About Us

Have you heard about Heartland Town Square?

The most recent studies of Long Island and Suffolk County in particular, has shown a mass exodus of our young people (18-34) and a dissatisfaction of our empty nesters due to a lack of rental housing, nightlife, and walkable communities.

But that is about to change!

Veteran developer Jerry Wolkoff and his sons Adam and David are proposing to build the Island’s first “smart growth” community on the grounds of the former Pilgrim State Hospital. The Heartland Town Square will create over 9,000 apartments and include a one million square foot life-style center, three million square feet of Class A office space, and indoor and outdoor civic spaces. Most importantly, it will create 26,000 jobs!

The Heartland Town Square will be intergenerational, open to those young and older, who are desperately needed to stay on Long Island to keep its economy humming, and tothe empty nesters, who may no longer have a need for a large home.

The first step we need to take, is to show up to the Town of Islip's Public Hearing on May 28th,5:30 PM at the Brentwood High School's Sonderling Building, and voice our support for such an important and necessary development.

Address of Public Hearing:

Sonderling Building at Brentwood High School
